The Red Kettle Cookie: A Holiday Treat from Papa John’s

January 27, 2015

The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign got an extra burst of flavor this year, thanks to the new Red Kettle Cookie from Papa John’s. A limited edition of their Mega Chocolate Chip Cookie, the Red Kettle Cookie was a personal-pizza-sized treat baked with tasty red chocolate chips. For each cookie sold, a portion of the proceeds was donated to The Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign.

Thanks to Papa John’s partnership with the NFL, the Red Kettle Cookie was featured in a national TV spot along with Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning. It was also promoted through both Papa John’s and The Salvation Army’s social media channels, websites, and PR efforts. Through this multichannel approach, both parties were able to bring in hundreds of millions of media impressions about the partnership.

Satisfying sweet tooths everywhere, The Red Kettle Cookie gave consumers just one more reason to get into the spirit of giving this Christmas. Over 365,000 Red Kettle Cookies were sold, and Papa John's was able to make a $195,000 donation to The Salvation Army. As it turns out, a little flavor can go a long way.
